It's approximately a 13-minute walk from the rear exit of Tainan Railway Station, making it quite convenient for visitors arriving by train. If you're traveling by Taiwan High Speed Rail, you can transfer to the Shalun Line at HSR Tainan Station, take the train to Tainan Railway Station, and walk to the hotel from the rear exit. If you're carrying lots of luggage and happen to encounter Tainan's blazing sunshine, taking a taxi directly to the hotel is another good option.
The hotel stands right along Qianfeng Road, and its large, three-dimensional Roaders Hotel sign is visible on the exterior wall from quite a distance. With its gray metal facade, large glass windows, and circular windows, the building has a slightly retro appearance. As you approach, you'll notice that the entrance is tucked beneath the covered sidewalk. The black double doors feature geometric ironwork, with plenty of green plants arranged nearby. Although the exterior doesn't look particularly modern, its slightly aged architectural character actually complements the hotel's American road-trip-inspired style rather well.
However, if you're driving, be sure to pay attention to the parking situation! Roaders Hotel Tainan Chengda doesn't have its own parking lot, and there's a clearly displayed no-parking sign at the entrance, so you can't simply leave your car beneath the covered sidewalk. I recommend checking nearby paid parking lots before arriving. That way, you won't find yourself dragging your luggage around in search of a parking space after reaching the hotel.

If you're like me and enjoy discovering places you haven't visited before alongside your originally planned itinerary, it's worth browsing through these materials while checking in. Although the lobby isn't as grand as those in large hotels, the combination of wooden furniture, warm-toned interiors, and assorted vintage accessories creates a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It's the kind of place that gradually puts you into vacation mode as soon as you walk through the door.
There are also several bicycles parked beside the first-floor lobby, which guests can rent directly through the reception desk. If you're planning to wander around National Cheng Kung University or leisurely explore Tainan's streets and alleyways, cycling is a great option! Whenever you spot an interesting café or local eatery along the way, you can simply stop and take a look without having to arrange transportation for every attraction. However, I traveled around Tainan by scooter this time, which was already very convenient, so I didn't rent a bicycle. For visitors arriving by train who haven't rented another means of transportation, this is a genuinely thoughtful service.

It even made me wish every hotel I stayed at in the future had the same feature.

The hexagonal tiles in the shower area are particularly distinctive, adding visual interest to what might otherwise have been a fairly ordinary bathroom. The bathroom features a glass partition separating the shower from the toilet and sink, keeping the wet and dry areas separate. This is something I personally care quite a lot about. After all, having to walk around on a soaking wet bathroom floor after taking a shower while traveling can be pretty annoying. Compared with elaborate decorations, I much prefer a design like this that combines visual appeal with practicality.
As for bathroom amenities, shampoo, body wash, and bath towels were provided during my stay. The room also came with indoor slippers, making everyday use quite convenient. However, I'd recommend bringing your own disposable toiletries, such as a toothbrush and toothpaste. Packing your toiletries before leaving means you won't arrive at the hotel only to discover you've forgotten something and need to purchase it there.
Another thing that deserves particular praise is how consistently reliable the hot water was throughout my two-night stay! After riding my scooter around Tainan every day, one of the things I looked forward to most when returning to the hotel was taking a relaxing hot shower. During my stay, I never experienced sudden changes in water temperature, so I didn't have to keep adjusting it halfway through my shower. That alone made me very satisfied. If you're particularly sensitive to sound, can't tolerate even a little traffic noise while sleeping, or need complete silence to fall asleep, this is something you might want to consider carefully before booking. However, if you're like me and don't mind the occasional sound of traffic, the soundproofing during my stay wasn't a problem.
